We are all building the story of our lives.
Be the one to tell it.
Over 25 million users access Ancestry websites every year to discover their legacy told through generations past. Those hidden stories long forgotten, never told, or kept buried in secret for reasons we can only explore.
People search for daily clues, memories, artifacts, and missing pieces of their family stories. We are all naturally curious.
Who we were, who we are, and who we will be.
We have libraries filled with best-selling biographies. Oftentimes, recollections from the people themselves. We have archives of history written in stone, in ink, spoken into the Universe, with no way of knowing where it started. We must start somewhere to get anywhere.
We have spent hundreds of years digging for answers and searching for any insight into the question, "Where do we come from?"
As technology adapts and grows. It has become easier to collect and save information. It's easier to find, while being harder to destroy. The lasting impact it has on saving history is one of our generation's most significant accomplishments.
Technology is accessible to almost everyone. It is no longer a tool reserved only for the privileged. History is no longer saved by only the survivors or written down and saved by the wealthy.
Technology has made history accessible to anyone willing to record it.
We are all pattern-seekers. We often look for paths that have been similarly travelled, finding value in the people past and present who walked those paths before, with, and after us.
When we discuss legacy, we refer to the power of profound storytelling. After death, it is something we knowingly or unknowingly hold on to with both hands. Legacy is how you are remembered. How many lives have you touched, positive or negative? It's a recipe, a song, a story, a scent and every part will affect everyone differently.
I was raised with a legacy. In a small town, everyone knows everyone. Let me tell you. Everyone knew him. His passing left a shadow over this city—a hole bigger than the foundations of all he built. He didn't create a legacy. He just lived his life—a life of generosity, hard work, and selflessness.
His life created his legacy: fifty-four years of Life and thirty-three years of death.
Now I'm sure he would be humbled by the way his memory has lived on. He would take credit for not even one. Giving you ten other people who are much more deserving than he was. His presence was quiet and strong. His absence was so profound that his peers found a way to keep a small part of his memory alive.
Create a legacy while you live.
We want legacy to be not only how your story is told but also the story told by YOU. Your history should be held in your own hands and left exactly where you want it.
Romanticize your life the way you want it. Share it however much or as little of it you want to. You can share your experiences, challenges, and strengths. You can share the complex parts. You can share part of yourself that others might not know. A legacy is a gift passed down through generations. It's the shadow.
Of your memory left behind. Your legacy cements your future in a world where only the pieces you've left behind exist.
My legacy will continue to wander the world in my absence. That's my dimpled smile, not only mine, but it’s also my children's. My hooded eyes have been passed down generations, seen in decades-old black and white photos. Small parts of myself are also passed on pieces of someone else's legacy.
E.X.I.T LIFE READY; Final Wishes App (ELR) is a LEGACY in and of itself. ELR was founded by four individuals (much like Hogwarts) with a single common goal. Simplifying things during chaos. They looked to make things easier for people navigating aging loved ones, sudden loss, and terminal illness.
They have all individually dealt with different aspects in the field. The chronic disorganization. Or just the lack of communication, proactive measures, and general knowledge surrounding people's daily lives.
ELR was built on the foundation of streamlining personal information and resources for people who need them in chaotic times. It has snowballed into a tool accessible to everyone who wants to be more organized and proactive about aging and dying.
ELR provides clients with access to resources and support, while offering encrypted and secure storage for vital documents.
Ex: birth certificates, adoption records, power of attorney, living will, insurance documents, land deeds, last will and testaments. It is what you want it to be, to hold, it is your digital vault.
EXIT Life Ready gives you a secure place to create your Legacy, whatever makes sense to you. Tell your own story. Leave letters, photos, recipes, and family videos showing your smile and voice. Anything someone who desperately wishes to hold a part of you in a memory. You desperately wish you had held on to the things of someone whose memory has faded.
There's a theory deep-rooted in ancient Mexican culture that defines death in three parts:
💀 The first death -. The moment in time when your heart stops beating and you take your last breath.
💀 The second death - I've read these two ways, one being your body is finally at rest, your remains scattered, your body buried or interred. I've also read these physical reminders that you no longer exist. Proof of your existence. Photos, heirlooms, anything you held close and treasured.
💀 The third death - this is always the death of your memory. The death of all that loved and knew you no longer exists in the world.
The current generation makes it easy to capture and preserve memories and periods of time. That almost no one is doomed to die three deaths. Anything and everything are easily documented.
While time still passes quickly, no matter how slow it might feel in the moment. Time will always be the world's biggest thief.
Soon we might forget. Memories will start to fade. People places ......
E.X.I.T Life Ready; Final Wishes App allows you to preserve those memories and moments for a future you no longer exist in.
Your Way.
